REFLECTIONS OF AED 200

1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met?      My expectation for this course was to learn more concepts on art and expand my knowledge on artist and different styles. I can definitely say that this course taught me so much more than what i intended to learn.  2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your initial posting?      Art is everything and anything! Based on the different cultures and styles, art is always going to be unique to every person. Art is never the same nor will it be.  3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so?      I wouldn't say I have a favorite artist now, but I would say that some of the paintings Picasso completed were some of my absolute favorites. PROJECT #5

1. Use the vocabulary you have learned in class to describe this artwork or performance in detail.       When looking at this work of art, the first thing that comes to mind when simply looking at it, is nothing. The reason I say nothing is because the moment my eyes glanced through the piece, it took me everywhere in the matter of seconds. This painting had the ability to shift my focus to everything and really take in its value all throughout. With its background being mostly dark, with grey shadows and blackness, the pieces that do stand out are all due to its unique textures and shapes.           2. What is the relationship of this work to the time and society in which it was created? Describe the symbols used to express this relationship.     The relationship of this work and the time and society in which it was created was very intense. It is interesting to see the way this painting speaks for itself and the meaning it ...

PROJECT #4 JOURNAL REFLECTION

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/11qSVGZyhmcouJ_esN9lbdN0BE1cbdkK2FvEBmCR5RCY/edit?usp=sharing Journal Reflection:  The process to this project was by far my favorite! Although I have said that about each project. This one was more time consuming, however it was one one that I enjoyed the most because I had the freedom to choose something that represented me and my background. It was a nice touch of me to add my Mexican culture into this because not only was it fun, but I also got to learn more about Mexican artist, their paintings and some history of Mexico. With this project I decided to go for a more colorful approach, which is usually something I wouldn't go for, only because at times it can get overwhelming. It was interesting the way I worked into this project with such confidence, because it was a topic I was very familiar in. Overall, I am glad to have been given the opportunity to create this Art Exhibit. It is something that I am very proud of and will continue to...

MOD 13/14 VIDEO REVIEW

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.      Based on the video, West Coast Pop Art,  Something interesting gathered from this video was the importance with school of art was the post-world war II, which was also referred to as the atomic age or space age. There were B movies and comic books which were very influential. As well as McCarthyism, which was going on because people were paranoid about the war.       On the Acquiring Mind video,  What I gathered from this video that was interesting was the Flemish Tapestry. I learned that it was woven out of wool and silk over 500 years ago. It was presented by Thomas Campbell who then presented it to de Montebello in 1998.      A key concept i learned about in the BBC culture show video, was about Tate modern. Where sitting in a room is a typical Tate Modern, and its where people look at artists work, where they are able to depict anything the artis...
