LOGO DESIGN
1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo.
At the start of the process, I was overthinking what I wanted to come up with. I wanted to come up with something that screamed me, without pushing it. I knew it had to incorporate my favorite colors, and I also wanted it sleek and clean, but also girly.
2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation.
The entire logo creating process was exciting, because I had no idea with what I would end up with. I started the process by choosing a base, which would be my favorite color, blue. I tested out different shades of blue, and other colors I thought I’d use. After having my base decided, I knew I wanted some sort of shape, as a borderline from my logo. I tested out squares, rectangles, and even a hexagon. The borderline would be needed because I also thought my name or initials would add a nice statement to my logo. Also, when adding my blue base, I decided not to be so bland with the painting strokes, and not to mount on so much paint at once. Overall, my ideas were quickly coming in after I decided I wanted something with color, line, and emphasis.
3. What was the most important discovery you made in the creation of your logo?
The most important discovery with my logo was my sketches, because after every sketch, each one would then inspire the next drawing. Having a vision and quickly drawing it, helped my train of thought when it came to what I wanted. Also, to just have fun with what you're making, because this logo can be anything we want it to be. I think the focus in creating this logo, was to acknowledge the endless possibilities that can be incorporated with logos.
4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos, powerpoint, and reading material for this project?
What is your opinion of the videos?
The most important thing I learned from the material provided for this project, was that when creating a logo, it's important to explore various attributes for the logo. There is so much to choose, from colors, symbols, and icons. In doing this, it allows to think outside of the box, out of our comfort zone, to accomplish the representation of the logo. The videos, reading material, and powerpoints, helped to have a better understanding of what logos can be. It showed how logos are everything that we may see but not realize.
